Tamron Teleconvertor for Canon
I've had this product for only 3 weeks. It has been used on two occasions to test its viability with my system, a Canon EOS 40D. I've used the teleconvertor with a 70-200 L Series Canon lens. Results have been very satisfactory with a total of approximately 50 photos that have been reviewed carefully with Photoshop Elements 6.0. The af feature works flawlessly with my lens, and my very sharp lens still produces excellent results, only with a longer focal distance. I'm very pleased at this point. I wanted a neutral extender with no coloration and got it - at a much better price than one from other sources.

buying a 400mm lens,someday.
i mainly ordered this for my canon 70-200L lens but noticed a loss of sharpness and not enough zoom for my needs.it did seem to work ok on the 28-105 with no auto focus problems, on both lenses.maybe the canon version is sharper but its a bit over priced.i may sell the 70-200 and get the 100-400L with image stabilize, when i can afford it.

Auto-Focus Still Works!!!!!
I'm using this teleconverter on a Canon 100-400L lens with my Canon 20D and 5D. The autofocus still functions just as the manufacturer claimed it should, and it even seems to focus just as fast as before. There is a detectable drop in sharpness however, which is to be expected with any teleconverter, especially when you're using a zoom lens. This TC would be an ideal choice for people with prime lenses who need autofocus intact (i.e. for birds in flight) and maybe for zoom lens owners who don't intend to make big enlargements or crop their prints heavily.

I was able to compare it with the more expensive Tamron 1.4x Pro and found absolutely no difference between the two in image quality. Autofocus doesn't even work with the Pro version when you've got a slower lens like mine (f/4.5-5.6) and Tamron even says there's no real advantage to the Pro TC unless you've got a fast 2.8 lens.

I only wish I owned a prime telephoto lens to check if it's worthy of a five star rating.

Does not live up to the Century Optics name
I got this because I though that the quality would be great (since it's Century Optics).

It's twice what other 0.55x cost and it's no better.
There is serious blurring on the edges at wide zoom.

I would recommend you look for something else.

Nikon Sigma 180 Macro, inconsistent auto focus
I purchased this lens because I wanted more distance when taking macro photos. As I do with all new lenses I purchase, I calibrate the AF (I have a Nikon D300 with AF Fine Tuning capability). What I found is that the AF on this lens has too much back lash to consistently focus. I took 5 pictures of a static object using a cable release and the camera mounted on a tripod. Before each picture was taken, I would rotate the focus ring either clockwise or counter clockwise. The results were 2 pictures focused behind the object, 2 focused in front and only one focused on the object. The object I was focusing on was high contrast and the lighting was midday sun so that the cameras AF had adequate parameters to operate properly. Maybe I got a bad example of this lens, but the poor AF repeatability was not acceptable. I returned the lens. I was very impressed with how sharp the lens took pictures, but not impressed with the amount of hysterisis in the AF mechanism. As for the returning of the lens to Amazon.com, the process is very simple and easy. I am impressed with their customer service. Too bad that Nikon doesn't have a more affordable long reach macro lens, also Nikon could learn a few things about tripod collar mounts from Sigma. The tripod collar was beautifully engineered.

Razor sharp lens!
After using Sigma 105mm f2.8 macro, I have bought 180mm for more working distance between me and the object. This is a top quality lens with inner focus, Hypersonic motor and sigma EX finish. I recommend everyone who want a real macro lens!

Awesome lens
I was a little bit worry about how it's going to install on my Olympus SP-510 camera, but It works so well that I couldn't believe it. It was a good deal.

Opteka .35x HD² with Olympus SP-510UZ
I bought these lens for my trip in South-western USA. I used them with Olympus SP-500 UZ. The original thread in the camera is 45.6 mm so I needed an adapter from 45.6 to 52 mm thread. The adapter came with the lens.
The pictures are really great. The angle is over 2 times wider. The abberation on the edges is visible but it is not such a big deal. In order to remove the black areas around pictures I zoomed the camera just a little bit.
The lens have built-in macro which is really amazing. You can touch the object with lens and the object is still sharp. You don't turn on the macro in the camera, it's not necessary.
My note is 8/10. Pluses are great prize, really good quality of pictures and quality of materials - it's glass, not plastic.
Minuses - abberation on edges (but I guess it's an issue in all the fish-eye lens).

Excellent all-around lens
I bought this to replace the 18-55mm kit lens for the Nikon D60. Nice balance on the D60. Focuses fast. OS makes a clear difference in low light. I chose this over the slightly larger 18-200 OS HSM Sigma to keep the size and weight down. Only had one day, so far, to shoot with it. Took it out for a walk in the local park on Thanksgiving morning and, in fact, the zoom range beyond the Nikon kit lens was just the thing that I was looking for in a compact lens. Very pleased so far. I expect that this lens will rarely come off the camera. No more switching out the kit lens to get that little bit of extra zoom.
